Boys Basketball: January 18, 2013

Come support your boys basketball team at home both Friday and Saturday. On Friday the Cards take on the Brunswick Blue Devils and Saturday the Benedictine Bengals. Saturday we will sell Krispy Kreme donuts. Bring $6 for a DOZEN donuts. Yum!!!

Boys Basketball: January 17, 2013

On January 11 your Mentor boys basketball team defeated Garfield Heights 76-63. Brody Nelson had a career-high game of 24 points. He has been named a Player of the Week by the News Herald! Other players with double digit points for the game were Caleb Potter with 14, Jeff Foreman with 13, and Conner Krizancic with 12. Way to go Cards! Congratulations, Brody!

Boys Basketball: January 17, 2013

Eastlake North visited our Cardinal gym last Saturday only to walk away with a loss. Our Varisty Boys Basketball team pounced the Raiders 85-51. Caleb Potter led the team with 27 points, Conner Krizancic added 20, and Brody followed with 12. The Cards play again at home both this Friday, January 18, against Brunswick and Saturday, January 19, against Benedictine. Keep up the hard work, Cards!

Boys Basketball: January 5, 2013

After a hard fought battle your Mentor Cardinals fell to Shaker Heights High late in the fourth quarter of the game in a final score of 66-72. Caleb Potter was high scorer with 17. Jeff Foreman followed with 12 points, and Conner Krizancic scored 10 points. The Junior Varisty also lost to Shaker 37-46. Paul Sateika earned 12 points, and Nick Fillar added 9 to the Mentor score. Finally, our Freshman Gray team fell as well in a 56-66 battle. Andrew Valeri and Josh Smith were high scorers with 11 each and Jason Blizzard scored 10. Keep fighting, Cards! Our next games are Friday, January 11 at Garfield Heights High and Saturday, Janaury 12 at home against Eastlake North.

Boys Basketball: December 31, 2012

The Mentor boys basketball team once again has advanced to the championship finals in the Arby's Classic in Bristol, Tenn. with a final score of 66 to 63. The Cardinals beat Mephis Melrose to head to the finals on New Year's Eve. Conner Krizancic led the team with 14 points, followed by Caleb Potter with 12. Jeff Foreman, Michael Gallagher, and Brody Nelson all scored 10 each. Boys Basketball: December 30, 2012

The Mentor boys basketball team is headed to the semi-finals of the Arby's Classic tournament with a 80 to 60 victory over Princeton Day Academy of Maryland. Conner Krazancic led the team with 22 points followed by Caleb Potter with 18 and Brody Nelson with 12. The team will play Melrose High from Memphis on Saturday at 7 p.m. Tune into wkptam.com to follow the game live. Boys Basketball: December 27, 2012

The Cardinal boys basketball team started the 2012 Arby's Classic tournament in Bristol, Tennessee with a 93-67 victory over Abington High from Virginia. Jeff Foreman and Caleb Potter led the team with 20 points each. Conner Krizancic followed with 19. They continue tournament play on Friday, December 28, at 5 p.m. against Princeton Day Academy from Maryland. You can listen to the games live online through wkptradio.com. Boys Basketball: December 22, 2012

Come out to support your Mentor Cards Boys Basketball team on Saturday (12/22) when they play Euclid at home. The boys are on a 3-0 streak of wins. The JV game begins at 6 p.m. Saturday is also Alumni Night. See you there, grads! Alumni, please check in to the scorer's table before the Varisty game. GO CARDS!

Congratulations to senior boys basketball player, Justin Fritts, as he was named Mr. Basketball for the State of Ohio for 2012. This award is given to the top basketball player in the state according to the writers of the associated press in Ohio.

Boys Basketball: March 15, 2012

The Cardinals ended their season last night, losing to Warren G. Harding High School in the Regional Semi-Finals by a score of 56-54. It was a battle between both teams the entire game and came down to the final seconds. The Cardinals were lead by Justin Fritts with 22, followed by Caleb Potter (14) and Danny Wallack (9). The Cardinals had a great season; ending with a 22-3 record. Records were made and many boys received awards for their accomplishments. WE ARE PROUD!
