Science Olympiad

Great job at the West Liberty Salem invite. It looks like Mentor Solon and Centerville will once again be battling at states on April 17 for the right to go to Nationals.


Ecology Club

Enviromentor/Ecology club is looking for the return of former members and NEW members. We need help with recycling and planning a bike to school event. You will receive community service hours AND we have pizza once a month. All are welcome.


MHS Muse

ATTENTION MUSE STAFF MEMBERS: Meetings for the month of March will take place on 3/22 and 3/29 at 2:45 in A212. See you then!


General

Sophomores must attend their lunch study hall on Wednesday, March 17 and Thursday, March 18. On Wed. they will report to B-Lecture and Thurs. they will report to an assigned computer lab. Sophomores are not to aide on either of those days.


Guidance

If you attended the PSEO meeting and are planning be in PSEO at Lakeland next year, here is information regarding the Compass test at Lakeland. Walk-in testing will end on March 31. After that group sessions will be conducted on March 11, 15, 16 and 18 at 3:30 in room C2062 at Lakeland. Also March 23


Attention upperclassman! If you will be 18 by the November 2, 2010 election, you are eligible to vote in the May 4 primary election this spring! If you would like to register to vote, see any American Government teacher for an application.


Winter Semi-Formal pictures have arrived. Please pick them up at the bookstore.


If you have lost any article of clothing, book, backpack,glasses, phone, etc, please come to the Bookstore to claim the items before 3/18/2010. After that date the items will be placed on tables outside the bookstore for anyone who needs them.


REMINDER: The CTE Phys. Ed. Verification Logs are due to Mr. Taylor by Tuesday, March 16th. Please make sure parents signature is on the form. Forms can be turned into your Unit Office. New forms will be sent out 4/1/10 or you can stop by CTE Bldg.


Congratulations to all the acts making it to the 2010 Honor Society Talent Show! Come see singers, dancers, comedy and even teachers on stage Monday the 15th of March at 7:00 in the Fine Arts Center.


MHS Bands get loud for Haiti!! Haiti still needs our help and how better than a concert of some favorite MHS Bands?!! Come listen Saturday March 20 from 3-6:00 p.m. in the MHS Student Center. Tickets $5 from bands, in SC or at the door.


ANIME/GAMERS--Due to parent teacher conferences, Gamers/Anime club will meet on Thursday, March 18, after school in the LRC until 4:00 and NOT on Thursday, March 11. See Mr. Montgomery or Mrs. Talarczyk with questions.


SUMMER SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION - OPEN TO ALL STUDENTS. Summer P.E. will run from 6/14 -7/2/2010. Students can pick up applications from their counselor and return to Mrs. Coughlin in the 9 Grade Guidance Office no later than April 16. Times offered: 7:30-9:30, 9:30-11:30 and 11:30-1:30. We will try to honor time selected.


Guidance

Application for summer PE are now available in all three guidance offices. If a student is to take summer PE this summer, an application is mandatory. Contact your counselor with questions.


Attention Students: A FREE yoga class is being offered to all MHS students. Please join us EVERY Tuesday and Thursday in the FAC 2nd floor balcony. Class begins at 4:30 and is FREE. Just bring a mat and wear comfy clothes to participate! Questions? See Mrs. Alexander in B109.


Sports

Boys Basketball

Tickets for Mentor's Regional Semi-Final Boys Basketball Game vs. Avon Lake will go on sale beginning Tuesday 3/16/10 at 8am in the Mentor High School Gym Lobby. Ticket hours will be Tuesday 3/16 and Wednesday 3/17 from 8am to 3pm. Presale tickets are $6. All tickets at the door are $8. The game is being played at the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University at 6:15pm. If you have any questions please contact the Mentor High School Athletic office at 440-974-5304.
