Sports

Football

The season ended for the Mentor Cardinals as Pickerington Central won the state title 56-28. The Cards end a fabulous season at 13-2 including a 12 game winning streak! Although it wasn't meant to be for the Cards, this group had an amazing chemistry that we all watched develop during the season. Congrats to all involved as you all did an outstanding job to entertain and make us proud as Cardinal fans. The championship game started on a solid note when the Cards scored twice to take the lead 14-7. Back and forth scoring continued leading to a 21-21 tie at halftime. The second half was the difference as Pickerington scored often pulling away the title championship opportunity from the Cards. Look for the football team to remain a powerhouse in NE Ohio for years to come. The foundation is there for sustained success. #onceacard
