General

Alma Woodsey Thomas was an African-American expressionist painter and art educator. She lived and worked in Washington D.C. and was featured in multiple major works of literature such as The Wall Street Journal, and was described as an under appreciated artist, and was recognized for her exuberant talents dealing with patterns, colors, and rhythm within her works. Some of Almas pieces have been displayed in some places with high respects, such as her pieces Watusi and Sky Light, which were chosen by Michelle Obama to be hung within the White House.
